Ray surprised me with the flash of a camera this week. We have been working on renovating the bookcases.
On one of our nicer days this week Ray worked outside on some siding issues that needed attention. Then since he was already up on the roof he cleaned the gutters. He makes it look like fun.
Ray created a new winter lawn ornament!
Saturday morning I started hauling down books. Even though the glass doors are still in the renovation stage. I couldn't wait to get the books out of the boxes and on the shelves!!
Our charming little bungalow is rather short on storage space as you can see. Two weeks ago I cleaned and painted this little closet and was prepared to find away to make it work. Then while Ray was in the attic he realized that behind the back wall of this closet is a large unfinished area that we could enlarge. Yeah !!! I won't have to make do with the smaller space after all. So when the weather warms up a bit we will tackle yet another new project.

latest improvements
This past week Ray worked on new electrical wiring for the kitchen. With lathe and plaster walls it was a time consuming and messy job. He also corrected wiring to the ceiling and pendant lights. Then the tools were removed and I cleaned and did some decorating. For the 1st time in 3 weeks I felt at home. Then a few days later he decided to tackle the back door in the kitchen. So my clean room was short lived. Two days and a couple of trips to the hardware store later. We now have a door that keeps out a cold north wind. I spent time working on 2nd floor closets. Trying to make the best use of what we have. We took a brief break and visited our kids in Kansas city. Tomorrow it's back to work on the bookcase project that caused a bit of frustration. I hope to get them finished soon. Ray will be working in his studio on free lance work and getting his studio in working order.

New Lights and More
This week's progress included new lights in the studio, more plastic on the windows, swapping the living room and the dining room and moving the TV antenna outdoors.
Marilyn spent hours scraping multiple layers of wallpaper off the back of the fireplace bookshelves. Haven't decided what to do next. I kind of like the rustic texture it's created, don't you?
The computer corner is starting to take shape. Still need more wall receptacles and more insulation.

Moberly Adventure
Hi, we're Ray and Marilyn Craighead and we're on an adventure. After 28 years in Olathe, KS, we've decided to pull up roots and move to Moberly, MO. From time to time we'll be sharing our experiences. Our move date is Dec. 29th and we've already spent several weeks working on the house in preparation for the big move.
Moberly is a friendly place and we look forward to becoming part of the community.
